TABITHA’S PURPOSE:  We empower people to live joyfully, age gratefully.

Responsibilities

CULTIVATE your career in healthcare at Tabitha and work with a Purpose!

The Sue Hill CNA Sponsorship Program in partnership with Lincoln Literacy and Bryan College of Health Sciences will offer paid time to attend CNA classes with opportunity to be hired into a Nursing Assistant position upon completion of the program at Tabitha.

Bryan College of Health Sciences course is August - December, with the Lincoln Literacy CNA Prep class beginning in February 2021.

Lincoln Literacy and Bryan College of Health Sciences have teamed up to offer a program for refugees and immigrants to become Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA's). Lincoln Literacy will provide a CNA Prep Class with 1-1 online volunteer tutors and will also help the students enroll in the official Bryan College CNA course.

With funding from the Community Health Endowment, we are able to provide qualifying students with scholarships which pay tuition, lab, and book costs. After completing the accredited class at Bryan and passing the final state exam, students will become certified as CNA's.

The new CNA Prep class at Lincoln Literacy will begin in February.

We will be interviewing those individuals who are interested within the next few weeks. Here are the basic requirements:

* Lincoln Literacy Level 5 or better in oral and written English. Good reading skills are important.

* Green card, U.S. citizenship, or similar work authorization

* Able and willing to commit to online tutoring with a 1-1 Lincoln Literacy tutor through May.

* Able and willing to commit to a full day on Monday (9 am to 4 pm) at Bryan College of Health Sciences from August through December for the lecture and skills class.

* Able to study at least 10 hours per week outside of class.

* Sincere interest in working as a CNA after completion of the Bryan College class.

Please pass this information along to anyone you feel may benefit from this class and who has an interest in becoming a CNA.  We are very excited about welcoming new students to this continuing successful program!
