Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Each Student TEAMember, regardless of title, enhances the living experience for Tabitha’s Seniors/residents/clients (hereinafter, “Seniors/clients”) by performing upholding Tabitha standards and eligibility requirements for the role of Student TEAMember.  While doing so they will contribute to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of Seniors/clients through respectful, professional, competent and personable interaction.  This TEAMember strives to uphold Tabitha’s LIVE2Care culture and actively embraces Tabitha’s Core Values.  By doing so, the TEAMember supports Tabitha goals related to the dignity, respect, independence, competence, autonomy, personal comfort, safety and security of Seniors/clients.  In addition, the TEAMember contributes to the success of Tabitha through ongoing collaboration with family members, TEAMembers, management, volunteers and others in the organization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS OF STUDENT PROGRAM:

  1. Be hired into a PRN, Part Time, or Full Time Tabitha position to work hours to fulfill Student Program requirements
  2. Be enrolled or accepted in an accredited nursing program, college or university
  3. Agree to work a minimum of 312 hours and complete 2 non-work related activities each semester (January – June and July – December). Hours to be pro-rated based on number of weeks in the student program if accepted after semester timeline. 
  4. Be identified as a strong role model of the Live2Care Culture on annual performance snapshot (Live2Care Champion or Supporter and Role Model or Successful Performer).
  5. Be in good standing (6 months without disciplinary action or 3 months after successfully completing a Performance Improvement Plan, whichever length of time is shorter)
  6. Maintain a record of excellent attendance (5 points or less based on the Attendance Policy)

 

STUDENT PROGRAM ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • TEAMember will work 312 hours per semester while also maintaining the requirements of current Tabitha position
  • TEAMember will complete two non-work activities per semester, including but not limited to:
    • Apply and be accepted into the Student TEAMember Program
    • Apply and be accepted into the Emerging Leader Program
    • Participate on a clinical committee
    • Present clinical outcomes learned in nursing school
    • Collaborate with a Clinical Educator to facility clinical floor education
    • Collaborate with a Clinical Educator to help facility annual competency skills testing
    • Complete a job shadow or career exploration visit with another business line
    • Volunteer for Tabitha Meals on Wheels
    • Participate in a LNKSE sponsored event (Lincoln initiative to support STEM careers)
  • TEAMember will provide documentation of acceptance or enrollment of nursing program
  • TEAMember will provide documentation of financial out-of-pocket expenses per semester
  • Upon complete of classes each semester, TEAMember will submit final grades. If the TEAMember fails to attain a grade of “C” or better, continuance in the student program will not be granted and financial assistance will not be awarded.
  • If all of these responsibilities are met, the TEAMember will receive a financial award based on years of service and hours worked that semester.

 

FINANCIAL AWARD DETAILS:

  • Semester financial award will be calculated based on years of service and hours worked that semester (see accrual table below)
  • Accrual rate is determined at the beginning of each semester (January 1 and July 1)
  • A minimum of $390 will be paid as a semester financial award
  • Accrual rate increases at 6 months increments
  • Semester financial award will not exceed out-of-pocket expenses detailed in the financial aid documentation
