This position is responsible for assessing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, and documenting comprehensive in-home services for Home Health Care clients. This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations and for upholding the mission and standards of the facility. Nebraska Registered Nurse or Licensed Practicing Nurse license required.
Valid Nebraska Driver's license and the state required minimum automobile insurance coverage required.
Current Healthcare Provider or BLS CPR/AED certification required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent physical assessment skills required. Knowledge of and ability to apply community health nursing principles and practices. Knowledge of teaching/learning principles, environmental hazards and good safety practices.
Works in clients' places of residence including apartments, town houses, duplexes, and houses. May care for clients with infectious disease so must observe Standard Precautions/Infection Control procedures. Travel is required from residence to residence in all kinds of weather. Must have a reliable means of getting to each client's residence on a timely basis. May be exposed to pets and tobacco smoke in client’ residence.
EDUCATION/TRAINING AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Graduation from NLN accredited school of nursing required. BSN preferred.
Two years of acute or skilled care nursing experience within the last three years required.
Home Health experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB
Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds, twist upper body and bend at waist while transferring, moving, turning, and supporting clients.
Use of computer for clinical record documentation as assigned. Use of cell phone. Use of home blood glucose monitoring equipment, standing and chair scales, home ventilator, infusion pump, vascular pump, pocket Doppler, mechanical lift (e.g., Hoyer), wheel chair, walker, cane, splints, brace, commode, thermometer, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope and oximeter. Telehealth Equipment.
