This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in production and food service as needed.


This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the mission and standards of the facility.




  1. Demonstrates commitment to Tabitha’s Crew Code of conduct.
  2. Trained to be able to function in numerous job roles of the kitchen. Must be flexible to work at serving patients, MOW, food prep, cleaning, catering or gift shop.   May be requested to work pots & pans, assist in dishwashing, stocking of groceries, heavy duty cleaning, and equipment cleaning responsibilities, etc.
  3. Must be flexible in working hours and changing assignments on short notice.
  4. Participates as a team member to ensure the department goals are met.
  5. Follows policies and procedures of department and facility.
  6. Performs tasks according to established time measures and standards.
  7. Follows all safety and infection control policies and practices of the facility.
  8. Works assigned schedule with dependability.
  9. Attends department meetings and in-services.
  10. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor, including putting groceries away in storeroom, freezer, and refrigerators.



Food Handler Permit from the Lancaster County Health Department required.



High school diploma or equivalent required.

Post-secondary training in food service preferred.

Six months of experience in institutional food service preferred.



  • Ability to work as part of a team, a keen sense of taste and smell, and personal cleanliness are important qualifications.
  • Ability to rotate stock- first in, first out.
  • Ability to accurately follow and give instructions both verbal and written.
  •   Ability to accurately weigh and measure food ingredients. Able to portion food as needed. 
  •  Ability to remain level headed, use common sense and work independently are essential.
  •  Ability to operate commercial food service equipment required.
  •  Attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, stay on task ans prioritize work responsibilities.          
  • Ability to speak, read, and write legibly in English language.
  •  Ability to get along with people and willing to help others in cooperative manner.
  • Ability and willingness to comply to Tabitha attendance policy and all other sanitation/department policies/procedures.


This position requires job hour flexibility. Must be knowledgeable of, and follow, all safety and infection control procedures for position in order to prevent injury to self and others.



Must withstand the pressure and strain of working in close quarters during busy periods, stand for hours as a time, lift heavy pots and kettles, and work near hot ovens and grills, steamtable, dishwasher, and cash register. Subject to extreme temperatures in fridges/freezes. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
