Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for dishing up patient meal trays, assisting with tray distribution, setup and serving, and performing dish washing and equipment cleaning after each meal service. This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the mission and standards of the facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS          

  1. Demonstrates commitment to Tabitha’s Crew Code of Conduct

  2. Responsible to follow diet orders and assembles appropriate trays for residents. Set up and serves in dining areas, performs dish washing and equipment cleaning responsibilities.

  3. Responsible to stock supplies in galley.

  4. Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of galley.

  5. Record quality control temperatures of patient foods.

  6. Participates as a team member to ensure the department goals are met.

  7. Follows policies and procedures of department.

  8. Performs tasks according to established time measurers and standards.

  9. Follows all safety and infection control policies and practices of the facility.

  10. Works assigned schedule with dependability.

  11. Attends department meetings and inservices.

  12. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.

 

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists in orienting and training new employees.

Qualifications

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

None required

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience with quantity food production preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to give and follow verbal and written instructions

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English

  • Ability to get along with people and willingness to help others in a cooperative manner

  • Ability to operate commercial food service equipment

  • Ability and willingness to comply with Tabitha attendance policy and all other Tabitha and      departmental policies and procedures

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires job hour flexibility.  Indoors working environment with varying temperature and humidity according to the season of the year.  Must be able to use chemical cleaning supplies.  Exposed to extreme heat and cold, high noise levels, and chemicals that may be hazardous.  Must be knowledgeable of, and follow, all safety and infection control procedures for position in order to prevent injury to self and other.  Chemicals may cause skin, eye or lung irritation if proper procedures are not followed.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB

Must withstand the pressure and strain of working in close quarters during busy periods, standing for hours at a time as well as walking, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.   Must withstand subjecting body to extreme heat or cold.

 

EQUIPMENT OPERATION

Continuous use of: dishwasher, garbage disposal, coffee urn, juice & pop machines

Frequent use of: blender, toaster, can opener, microwave, knives, hot pellet warmer,

refrigerators.
