This position serves as important customer service representative for the residents and family members of Tabitha Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. The Beauty Salon Operator will provide hair and beauty services to the residents of the Nursing Center.Services will be provided in a professional and sensitive manner that promotes the self-esteem and dignity of all clients. This position is responsible for the delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and upholding the mission and standards of the facility.   1. Demonstrates commitment to Tabitha’s Crew Code of Conduct.
  2. Schedules and performs hair and beauty services for the residents of Tabitha Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
  3. Works harmoniously with clients and staff to achieve efficient day-to-day salon operations, client services, and customer relations.
  4. Adheres to rules and regulations of the Nebraska Department of Health and Bureau of Examining Boards for Cosmetologists.
  5. Records all sales in the Beauty Salon by using the charge ticket system, designating charge to statement, charge to guest account, or by cash paid at time of service.
  6. Cooperates with the Accounting Department to assure accurate and timely billing for goods and services.
  7. Recommends charges for services, and administers as directed by the administrator.
  8. Reviews rates annually and notifies clients of changes at least 30 days in advance of change.
  9. Sets and maintains inventory.
  10. Develops annual budget, and adjusts accordingly to meet fiscal goals.
  11. Keeps the premisses and equipment safe, neat, clean and sanitary.
  12. Provides service to room-bound and bed-bound clients, as needed.
  13. Works with Volunteer department to assure adequate number of beauty shop volunteers are available to assist with transporting residents to and from the beauty shop.
  14. Works with the Nursing department to assure appointments do not conflict or impinge upon the residents’ medical care.
  15. Develops and implements salon policies and procedures.
  16. Investigates and resolves client problems as directed and/or as necessary.

  18. Prioritizes duties to ensure optimum resident service is maintained.
  19. Adheres to and monitors facility safety policies and procedures.
  20. Adheres to and monitors facility infection control policies and procedures.
  21. Communicates effectively with families, staff, and support services to achieve client goals and meet service expectations.
  22. Assures optimum work performance by being to work on time, as scheduled, and/or providing appropriate advance notification.
  23. Attends and participates in continuing education programs designed to keep abreast of changes in the profession, as well as to maintain current license.
  24. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor.



Current State of Nebraska Cosmetology license, in good standing.



Graduate of approved cosmetology school, required.

Experience in elder hair and beauty services, preferred.



-Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

-Must be able to walk long distances in the building.

-Must be able to push wheelchairs.

-Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional, and physical stress of the position.

-Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

-Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, family members, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies.

-Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination.

-Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.

-May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

-Must be willing to perform tasks that may involve exposure to the resident's blood/body fluids.

-Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

-Must possess the ability to make independent decisions.

-Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

-Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the goals, objectives, policies, procedures, of the department.
