Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for cleaning kitchen, storeroom, cold storage, equipment, pots, and removing trash. This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the mission and standards of the facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Demonstrates commitment to Tabitha’s Crew Code of conduct.

  2. Maintains clean and orderly kitchen, storeroom, cold storage areas, hallways, and dock areas. Washes pots and pans.

  3. Participates as a team member to ensure the department goals are met.

  4. Follows policies and procedures of department.

  5. Performs tasks according to established time measures and standards.

  6. Follows all safety and infection control policies and practices of the facility.

  7. Works assigned schedule with dependability.

  8. Attends department meetings and in-services.

  9. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

None required.

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Six months of experience in sanitation work in health care or food preparation facility preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions thoroughly required.

  • Personal cleanliness required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Day work is done indoors except when emptying the trash bags into the dumpster. During bad weather there may be times when ground is icy or snow covered. Must be knowledgeable of, and follow, all safety procedures for position to prevent injury to self and others. Chemicals may cause skin, eye or lung irritation if proper procedures are not followed.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required. Must throw heavy garbage bags into outside waste receptacle. Physical stamina required as most of the time is spent standing or walking. Sometimes there is lifting or pushing of equipment and frequent bending, stooping and stretching. No allergies to soap allowed.

 

EQUIPMENT OPERATION

Continuous use of: mop, broom, dustpan, trash carts.
