Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

 

This position is responsible for coordination of all accounting and financial reporting functions including: Filing & Maintaining Billing Records, Accounts Receivable Analysis for services supported; Collection Efforts; Customer Relations and Education of role to the entire organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work proficiently in both areas listed above.
  • Provide proficient back up and support for both areas listed above.
  • Evaluate completeness of client information as it relates to accurate reporting and billing
  • Process billing cycles and submit timely billing statements to appropriate payers
  • Data entry for payments and balance business line specific cash receipts
  • Conduct reconciliation between AR software and General Ledger system
  • Research and resolve billing problems with Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance or Private Payers
  • Runs Accounts Receivable reports and analysis for month end statistics and work-papers
  • Adapt to different AR software programs as used by individual business lines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

 

  • Knowledge of accounting practices, principles, procedures, and terminology.
  • Knowledge of mathematical calculations, including: fractions, decimals, percentages, algebraic calculations, and descriptive statistics.
  • Knowledge of various software packages and the ability to learn new software packages, including MS Office and Great Plains.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in organization and prioritization.
  • Ability to efficiently complete essential job functions, paying particular attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform clerical functions, including: answering the phone, filing invoices, ten-key data entry, typing, mailings creation and the ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to adapt and LIVE in a continuously changing environment.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Necessary to have earned an Associate’s degree in a business field. A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

 

Experience having worked in a healthcare billing setting is preferred.
