Overview

TABITHA’S PURPOSE:  We empower people to live joyfully, age gratefully.

Responsibilities

  1. Assures spiritual assessment of Seniors/clients and families/caregivers in the hospice program and appropriate services and rendered in a timely manner.
  2. Facilitates the development of the individualized plan of care by participating in the comprehensive assessment to meet identified spiritual and bereavement needs.
  3. Provides direct spiritual care to Seniors/clients and families/caregivers.
  4. Provides for funeral or memorial services for Seniors/clients as requested.
  5. Plans, coordinates, and implements the volunteer training program and the volunteer orientation process in an effective and efficient manner.
  6. Oversees timely collection, storage, and retrieval of volunteer data including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, progress notes, evaluations, and criminal background checks.
  7. Assures volunteer hours are maintained at a level that satisfies State, Federal, and Tabitha Hospice policies.
  8. Provides support and guidance to volunteers on a regular basis and when difficulties arise.
  9. Plans, implements and maintains the Bereavement program in order to meet the needs of those served.
  10. Coordinates services to include the provision of the assessment and delivery of grief counseling needs and services (one-to-one, groups, mailing program and ongoing follow-up) to ensure timely and appropriate services are provided to family/caregivers for a minimum of 13 months following client's death.
  11. Responsible for the delivery of bereavement services, as assigned..
  12. Provides crisis intervention for Hospice or community bereaved.

Qualifications

COMMUNICATION:  Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language as well as terminology and jargon specific to the job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job. Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 25 - pounds, demonstrating strength and agility at Tabitha’s discretion.    

AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 18.

EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree) preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years combined experience in marketing, program coordination, or staff scheduling and supervision. 

CREDENTIALS: Valid Nebraska Driver’s license (unless otherwise allowed by law) and a good driving record required.
