Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates the planning, developing, conducting and presenting of academic and clinical training courses.
  2. Coordinates new TEAMember curriculum development in collaboration with DON and leadership team.
  3. Coordinates and maintains TEAMember CPR lab and monitors CPR certifications.
  4. Provides clinical orientation to new TEAMembers on a set rotation, as well as an alternative clinical orientation offering. This may include all living communities and home based programs.
  5. Provides unit specific education and in-services for quality improvement.
  6. Coordinates yearly competency and educational events.
  7. Provides coordination, orientation, and computer training for Nursing Student Clinicals and Nursing Assistant Observational Clinicals.
  8. Monitors Tabitha’s Learning Center program for TEAMember compliance. Creates modules for educating TEAMembers through the Learning Center.
  9. Assists with Medication Aide competency testing (both initial and renewal). Assists with clinical staff competency testing.
  10. Organizes and presents educational materials in a manner conductive to optimal learning. Uses knowledge of educational theory and psychology of the adult learning, knowledge of teaching skills, theory and clinical instructional technique, knowledge of gerontological theories and clinical applications of the theories.
  11. Coordinates student enrollment and completion of the onsite CNA hybrid online course in partnership with designated training program.
  12. Participates in on-call rotation when assigned. Is subject to extended hours or callback based upon needs of the organization. Occasional out-of-town travel that may require overnight stays.

Qualifications

COMMUNICATION: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including medical terminology related to the job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job. Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction). Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 50 - pounds, demonstrating strength and agility at Tabitha’s discretion.

AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 18.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of a Registered Nurse course of study.  Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Education preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of RN nursing experience required. Minimum of one year of experience in an educational position teaching adult learners preferred. 

CREDENTIALS: RN License in good standing as recorded on the Nebraska State Registry or other Nurse Compact state required. CPR Required. CPR Instructor Certification for healthcare provider is recommended or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. All licenses/certifications must be kept up to date at the expense of the employee. Must meet Tabitha's vaccination requirements.
