Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing Occupational Therapy services to clients under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Services will be provided to clients with physical or cognitive disabilities to maximize functional independence. Services are provided in a variety of settings including nursing home, home health care, and other contracted facilities. This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the mission and standards of the facility.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor environment and may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must be knowledgeable of, and follow, all safety and infection control procedures for position including Standard Precautions to prevent injury to self and others. Traveling is required when conducting home health or contract site visits. Chemicals may cause skin, eye, or lung irritation if proper procedures are not followed.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Nebraska Occupational Therapy Assistant License.
Valid Nebraska driver's license and state required minimum automobile insurance coverage required.
Current C.P.R. certification required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Graduation from accredited occupational therapy assistant school.
One year of experience preferred.
Geriatric experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB
Requires manual dexterity and physical strength/endurance to stoop, kneel, crouch and stand for extended periods of time while performing client care. Requires frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. to move, lift, ambulate, and transport clients and equipment.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION
Continuous use of: Physical assistive devices for treatment (walkers, canes, splints, braces, crutches, wheelchairs), goniometer, ergo meter, dynamometers, Cybex Kinetron, Upper Body Exercise Ergometer, Biodex Balance System, adaptive equipment (eating utensils, positioning devices, ADL assistive devices).
Frequent use of: Dictaphone, telephone.
