Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regional Business Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for educating key stakeholders and promoting Tabitha’s Home Health Care and Hospice | A Collaboration with Immanuel. This position will work to establish and maintain relationships and promote the program, as well as Tabitha, with identified internal and external stakeholders, including Immanuel Communities.  This TEAMember is responsible for meeting specified monthly referral number targets within the programs as well as maintaining contact with other key stakeholders throughout the specified service area. This TEAMember strives to uphold Tabitha’s LIVE2Care culture and actively embraces Tabitha’s Core Values. By doing so, the TEAMember supports Tabitha goals related to the dignity, respect, independence, competence, autonomy, personal comfort, safety and security of residents/Seniors/clients (hereinafter, “Seniors/clients). In addition, the TEAMember contributes to the success of Tabitha through ongoing collaboration with referral sources, community members, family members, TEAMembers, management, volunteers and others in the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Serves as the Tabitha representative for key community organizations in defined region, including the Chamber of Commerce, networking organizations, and church congregations.
  2. Drives and manages key Tabitha initiatives related to community relations, business development, and overall community engagement with Tabitha.
  3. Execution of long-term and short-term plans to meet referral targets for the Home Health and Hospice programs..
  4. Provides education for internal stakeholders throughout Tabitha’s Senior Care Continuum.
  5. Delivers education for external stakeholders in assigned region specific to Home Health and Hospice, the benefits of the programs, the process for initiating a referral, as well as highlighting Tabitha’s continuum of services.
  6. Responsible for meeting metrics in assigned region, along with overall success in Tabitha business lines.
  7. Focuses on key referral partners – Business to Business Relationships:
    • Builds relationships and maintains communication with key internal/external referral sources, including:
      • Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Social Workers/Discharge Planners, Office Staff
      • ALFs, ILs and SNFs
      • Area Hospitals
      • Other community organizations and referral sources
  1. Monthly tracking and reporting of relationship building activities focused on business to business relationships and business to client relationships.
  2. Branding (Internal and External) – working with Tabitha Marketing & Communications department to enhance Tabitha’s brand
  3. Approaches the role with creativity and initiative in order to successfully grow program services.
  4. Serves as resource for the management and clinical team in regard to focus on customer service and ease of referral process.
  5. Represents Tabitha at health fairs and other sponsorship opportunities
  6. Provides group presentations through Tabitha Speaker’s Bureau, Church relations, and other business development opportunities.
  7. Connects with grateful clients and family members, helping them understand how they can support Tabitha initiatives through volunteer and charitable giving opportunities
  8. Professionally handles referral source questions or concerns, while collaborating with the clinical teams to successfully and timely resolve issues.
  9. Prioritizes work load to ensure that all essential functions are addressed effectively, making appropriate adjustments throughout each day and each work week to meet changing and/or competing priorities when necessary. May work more than 40 hours in any given work week, based on the needs of Tabitha, the department, projects and/or deadlines.
  10. Utilizes strength and stamina to carry out all essential functions safely and effectively. Willingly takes on additional duties and works as long as necessary during times of peak workload. Adaptable and flexible, capable of working collaboratively with team members to achieve overall goals and objectives.
  11. Demonstrates good judgement, excellent organizational skills and ability to adjust to changing work needs.
  12. Complies with HIPAA regulations regarding privacy by insuring that Protected Health Information (PHI) is safeguarded at all times. In addition, maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding any matter pertaining to any Tabitha Seniors/clients.
  13. Consistently uses strength, dexterity, agility and good body mechanics when performing essential functions. Follows appropriate safety and infection control policies and procedures of Tabitha and/or community and regulatory agencies.
  14. Assures reports of all broken and malfunctioning equipment is made in a timely manner.
  15. Follows disaster plans and uses strength and agility during participation in preparedness drills and actual emergencies. Maintains a safe work environment.
  16. Follows Tabitha protocol for submission of completed documentation as it pertains to time records, expense accounts, donor records, event records and all other similar documentation required by Tabitha.
  17. Completes required training and in-services promptly. Demonstrates understanding of the course content and implements training in daily activities. 
  18. Performs work duties within the assigned work environment related to the position, as assigned by Tabitha, regardless of TEAMember preference.
  19. Maintains courteous relationship with members of management, peers, TEAMembers of other departments, other stakeholders and volunteers, providing leadership, support and assistance as needed to ensure achievement of departmental and corporate goals. Volunteers to assist others and seeks opportunities to serve Tabitha.
  20. Participates in meetings/in-services, both on a departmental level and on a company level.
  21. Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality as defined by Tabitha’s policy pertaining to attendance and punctuality. Records all time worked accurately and consistently using the timekeeping method provided by Tabitha.
  22. Complies with Tabitha policies and procedures as published by Tabitha and which may be modified at Tabitha’s discretion. Contributes to quality assurance and performance improvement activities by identifying instances of non-compliance and taking appropriate action, including reporting violations of Tabitha policy or regulations as appropriate.
  23. Acts with integrity and in the best interest of Tabitha. Business relationships are conducted in the best interest of Tabitha, free of gifts, cash inducements, gratuities, favors, or other perceived improper inducements.
  24. Willingly completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

COMMUNICATION: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language as well as terminology specific to the job. Understands written and verbal instructions. Expert level written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation skills. Sufficient fluency to be able to hold a conversation, conduct or participate in meetings, compose professional e-mails or other written communication, complete documentation requirements of the job and interact with key stakeholders, congregations, community members, management, vendors, TEAMembers, customers, volunteers and managers effectively. Ability to recognize and interpret non-verbal cues. Ability to respond calmly and clearly to emergencies and emotional situations. Ability to work with spreadsheets, software and perform complex mental tasks. 

 

WORKSITE CONDITIONS:  Frequently travels throughout Region to meet with key stakeholders.  May work indoors in a facility maintained by Tabitha that will typically be in good repair, clean, well ventilated and well lit.  Must be available for regularly scheduled meetings at Tabitha’s Main Campus in Lincoln. May also work from regional office and/or from home.  Exposure to interruptions and changes in priorities. Works on weekends and evenings when assigned. Is subject to extended hours or callback during emergency conditions or based upon needs of the organization.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job while utilizing standard and specialized equipment, including but not limited to the equipment described below. Ability to move about the work area. Ability to work at a computer for hours at a time.  Rare need for physical strength or physical exertion.  Ability to drive vehicle from place to place, gain access to meeting/presentation locations and then safely perform the duties of the job while moving about the locations.  Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction). Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability and pass a 25 - pound physical exam demonstrating strength and agility prior to employment and at Tabitha’s discretion.

 

EQUIPMENT USAGE: Standard and specialized equipment including laptop, PC, smart phone, photocopier, scanner, fax machine, elevator, projector, telephone, and television. 

 

AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 18.

 

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Deep experience building and maintaining relationships required.  Practical experience managing multiple projects at one time required. 

 

CREDENTIALS: Valid Nebraska Driver’s license (unless otherwise allowed by law) and a good driving record required. Must possess auto insurance at or above Nebraska statutory requirements. Must meet Tabitha's vaccination requirements.
